Supporting Creators

We need a way to automatically support the creators of whatever we find ourselves consuming. We cannot subscribe to every service or creator that we might want to watch, read or listen to. We do not want advertisers constantly interrupting our experience. And if we do not pay for it, the work most people will consume will be either low quality or biased to serve the interests of the few willing and able to pay to have certain information, views and art be widespread. In the public interest, it needs to be a system where the good stuff can be made available to everyone because most of us are willing to pay enough to keep the creators working. Creation takes time and effort but more people accessing digital work costs very little.

This should all be possible with an open fiat transfer protocol, letting us easily send money directly from bank to bank. Our apps could tally our time consuming works by participating creators, and then digitally divide and distribute an amount set aside monthly for this purpose, based on the percentage of time spent with each creator's work. More creators would participate based on more us giving. They'd would cease to use the closed systems just as more of us do, hopefully giving just as much using these open systems instead. It would have the side benefit of less of this value being eaten up by corporate overhead. We'd all have a better experience, with no paywalls or advertising.
